Inception

Arch Hive was formed in 2023 by long time University of Strathclyde coursemates Paul Moran and Pauline Wan.

Since graduating, both progressed successful employed careers separately across a handful of Practices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Paisley, and for the last few years have worked together in Stirling at McEachern Architects.

Focus

Much attention in recent years has been put toward developing sustainable energy production technologies. Solar PV, Heat pumps etc. The result of which is that an increasing percentage of the Carbon Consumption of a new building now resides in the physical construction itself.

It is becoming increasingly clear that Architects have a major role in working towards a carbon neutral economy through the design and material specification of new projects.

Arch Hive is driven to become a leader in this area by its use of natural materials such as Timber, Stone, Slate and Natural Insulation as well as working towards finding new solutions to limit or eliminate the use of carbon intensive products such as Cement and Steel.

A Personal Approach

Running our own Practice has given us the opportunity to approach the work we love with a renewed sense of ownership and responsibility. We measure our success by the level of satisfaction you would report to others in regards your experience with us.

A Construction Project is a team effort and though we act as lead consultant - from day one we put the Client front and centre and hold at all times how every persons involvement, and every decision best serves your needs.
